Participation options
There are various ways to participate in a video conference hosted by IT.NRW:
- Dial-in via a browser
- Dial-in via a SIP-capable endpoint (video conferencing system, Jabber, ...)
- Dial-in via a telephone (audio only)
Dial-in via a browser
It is recommended always to use the latest version of
Google Chrome or
Mozilla Firefox.
- Visit the website: https://join.video.nrw.de
- Enter the conference ID and PIN provided in your invitation. After clicking on "Join the conference", you will be taken to a page where you can set your display name and further setting for your audio and video connection.
- Select the correct webcam and microphone here. You will get a preview and can choose whether the microphone should already be muted and the camera will be active when you join.
- When you have made all the settings as desired, join the conference. Depending on the organiser's settings, you either enter the conference directly or have to be admitted by the moderator first (lobby).
Dial-in via a SIP-enabled endpoint
In your conference invitation you will find the option to dial in via SIP URI. The SIP URI is in the format "[Conference ID]@join.video.nrw.de". Simply dial this with a SIP-enabled endpoint, such as a video conferencing system. You will then be asked to enter the PIN (also in the invitation) and confirm with the hash key.
Dial-in via a telephone (audio only)
If you do not have the possibility to dial in via SIP or browser, you can also join the conference via telephone. Please note that in this case an audio-only connection is established. You will not be able to send or receive video and you will not be able to follow or share screen presentations.
To join a conference by phone, dial +49 (211) 9449 9800 and you will be asked to enter the conference ID and then the PIN, each of which you must confirm with a hash.
